Annual memberships cost $40 for individuals, $55 for households, $100 for businesses. Renewal reminders are sent one year from date of joining/renewal. This is no service charge for using PayPal. Payments made via check may take up to two weeks to process. Members can participate in club activities free of charge, except as noted.

Business members receive a logo and goods/services descriptions on our website, the chance to post advertisements twice monthly our Facebook page, and other opportunities to connect with members. (Business membership does not include participation in NSSKA kayaking trips.)

Note that participation in NSSKA events requires wearing a Coast Guard-approved type III or type V personal flotation device (PFD, aka life vest). Because all waters in our area are cold, our trips require paddlers to wear a drysuit or wetsuit.

All saltwater trips require traditional sit-inside sea kayaks with spray skirts and all parts in working condition. Most trips require a kayak that is at least 14 feet long. Sit-on-top kayaks and canoes may be appropriate for lake and river outings. If you are unsure if your equipment meets club requirements, contact us.
