James Island Campout and Blakely Island Circumnavigation

We'll launch from Anacortes and enjoy a 4NM paddle across the Rosario Straight to our campsite on James Island. This is an exposed open water crossing prone to the elements and quick changes in conditions. Once arriving on James Island we'll set up camp and folks can pick from going for a hike on the island, getting back in their boats and playing in the currents or nothing at all.

The next morning we'll wake up and enjoy a lovely day of circumnavigating Blakely Island through both Thatcher and Peavine Pass. This is a 10-11 NM paddle with currents up to 2 knots. Return to James Island that night, and paddle back early to Anacortes the next morning.

Total paddle distance will be around 20NM over the three days.
